INEC Declares Yahaya Bellow Winner of Kogi Governorship Election

Yahaya Bello was nominated by the APC party to replace Abubakar Audu, who was the candidate of the party in the November 21 election but gave up the ghost as results were being collated on November 22. Prince Audu had polled 240,861, putting the APC in the lead, while Governor Idris Wada secured 199,514 votes.

However, the election was declared inconclusive due to the margin of votes (41,353) between the two leading candidates was less than the number of cancelled votes (49,953) which could affect the final outcome.

INEC has declared Yahaya Bello of the APC Party as winner of Kogi Governorship election. Returning officer, Professor Emmanuel Kucha announced the results...
