Sir Alex Ferguson Says He Only Had Four World Class Players At Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson believes he worked with just four world class players in his time as Manchester  United manager.
The Scot, whose new book Leading was published yesterday, guided the club to 13 Premier League and two Champions League titles during his 26 years at Old Trafford.

However for all those successful teams, Ferguson claims Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes were the standout stars.
"They made the difference and the evidence is there," he told the BBC's Football Focus.
While the legendary boss brought in Ronaldo and Cantona, Giggs and Scholes rose through the club's academy and he believes no one can match what they achieved in the Premier League.

"The younger breed like Ryan and Scholes were just fantastic players and the thing about those two was longevity.
"Are there players who have played right through the whole of the Premier League and performed at the level they have? There are none, absolutely none.
"Of course Ronaldo was just a complete genius of a player."

Omissions from the list include ex-skippers Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand, along with David Beckham, Peter Schmeichel and Wayne Rooney.
And while Ferguson admits he worked with other "great players" - he believes the quartet mentioned have the edge.
"These players elevated themselves above that," he said.

Ferguson also stated French  icon Cantonawas "the catalyst" for Manchester United's success after arriving from Leeds in 1992.
"When we brought him in we won the league that season - it was his mere presence and his ability to make and score goals," he added.

Kidnappers of Chief Olu Falae Reduces Ransom To 90million, His Family Raises 2M

chief olu falae / credit: sunday aborisade

Negotiation is still going on between the family of a former Minister of Finance, Chief Olu Falae, and his abductors as the latter has reduced the ransom demanded for his release from N100m to N90m.
It was learnt that the family had, however, been able to raise a sum N2m, which was reportedly rejected by the kidnappers.
A family source said the abductors called the family on Monday and said the family should raise N90m if they could not afford the N100m earlier demanded.
“At the time they called us on Monday night, they said they could only reduce the ransom to N90m, but we begged them to collect N2m, which they rejected.
“They said they would call us back today (Tuesday), but as I am talking to you. they have yet to do that,” the source said.
When contacted on the telephone, the Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Mr. Wole Ogodo, said the police were still making efforts to ensure that the victim, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was released alive .
However, the Personal Assistant to Falae, Mr. Moshood Raji, alleged that Fulani herdsmen were behind the kidnap of his boss, noting that there had been incessant face-off between the herdsmen and the Afenifere Chieftain over their frequent invasion of Falae’s farm.
He said, “The Fulani herdsmen always invade the farm and this has caused a lot of problem between them and baba (Falae).
“Some weeks ago, we arrested some of them and detained them at the state command headquarters.
“There was a time that the secretary of the Fulani community told baba to erect a fence around his big farm so that his men would not be entering it with their cattle. He also threatened that baba should ensure that nothing happened to his people and their cows.”
Meanwhile, the Ondo State House of Assembly has condemned the abduction of Falae.
The House, at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Jumoke Akindele, also called on security agencies to bring to book those behind the “dastardly act.
Akindele said the kidnap of Falae, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, was uncalled for, having contributed immensely to the state and the nation at large.
The Speaker also called on the Federal Government to consider the 2014 confab report which recommended state police as the solution to increasing cases of insecurity.
In the same vein, the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Isaac Kekemeke, called on the state government and security agencies to ensure that the abductors were arrested.
Kekemeke, in a statement, said, “The state government must regulate the activities of these itinerant heardsmen, just as it regulates citizen’s use of public utilities.
“ These lawless herdsmen, if they must live in Ondo State, cannot be law unto themselves.”
In a related development, the South West farmers, popularly known as Agbekoya, on Tuesday demanded an unconditional release of Falae by his abductors or risk the wrath of its members across Yorubaland.
The farmers, under the aegis of All Farmers Association of Nigeria, South-West geo-political zone, also issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the abductors.
The AFAN S/W Zonal Coordinator, Chief Olusegun Dasaolu, announced the ultimatum in Abeokuta on Tuesday in company with the secretary of the association, Ogunjinmi Abiodun.
Dasaolu said, “The association is not unaware of the running battle between Falae and the Fulani herdsmen.
“We are ready to mobilise all farmers in the entire region to comb everywhere in the entire Yorubaland in search of Chief Falae.”
He noted that whatever affected Chief Falae on his farm could also affect any of the farmers in the geo-political zone.
He also appealed to Fulani farmers who had been living peacefully with their host communities across the South-West to join hands with AFAN in search of Chief Falae.
Dasaolu also called on security agencies to, as a matter of urgency, ensure that Chief Falae was released unconditionally and unhurt.
He said, “AFAN is not taking it lightly with the abductors; it is absurd, unacceptable.
“Our utmost interest is that Chief Falae should be released unhurt and unconditionally.”

Feul Subsidy -House of Rep. Query N222.1billion Extra Budgetary Spending

The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on the Non-Implementation of the 2015 Capital Budget has queried the executive expenditure of N222.1bn on fuel subsidies from January to July, 2015.
Chairman of the committee, Aliyu Pategi (APC Kwara), expressed the committee’s position during a public hearing in Abuja on Tuesday.
Pategi said the money was neither appropriated nor approved by the National Assembly, noting that such extra-budgetary expenditure had become a source of concern to legislators.
“Appropriation is an Act, and we insist on its implementation. We want to know where there are challenges but to spend monies such as the N222.1bn without recourse to the parliament is not acceptable to us,” the lawmaker said.
The committee also queried a loan of N615.96bn taken from the Ways and Means Account at the Central Bank of Nigeria without recourse to the National Assembly.
The committee chairman directed the Ministry of Finance to provide details of these transactions in a position paper which he said should be submitted to the Clerk of the Committee within two days.
On the issue of the Treasury Single Account, Pategi said the National Assembly would consider a review of the laws establishing some revenue generating agencies, so they could retain a portion of their revenue.
He cited an example of the Nigeria Customs Service which retains seven per cent of its revenue and remits 93 per cent to the Federation Account.
“For instance, last year the Nigeria Ports Authority collected N161 bn, they spent all of it and remitted only N1bn. These agencies belong to the people; you cannot spend these monies without recourse to parliament,” he said.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Anastasia Daniel-Nwaobia, had told the committee members that the Federal Government spent N222.1bn on fuel subsidy between January and July, 2015.
She said that the money was neither appropriated in the 2015 Appropriation Act nor was approved by the National Assembly.
Daniel-Nwaobia, who was represented by the Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Mr. Aliyu Gusau, said he did not have sufficient information on the expenditures.
Commenting on the loan secured from the CBN, Gusau said, “This is an item under contingency funds, but it allows room to take loans and things like that, but I am not too conversant with the details.
“In January 2015, J.P Morgan placed Nigeria on an index watch as a result of their concerns in the operations of our foreign exchange market, namely liquidity for transactions, plus the fluctuations exchange rate and lack of a fully functional two-way forex market.
“However, the finance ministry, the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Debt Management Office will continue to ensure a stable forex market.
“We have assured J.P Morgan and other investors that the markets for FGN bonds remain strong and active due primarily to the strength and diversity of the domestic investor base.”
He explained further that the recent S&P rating scored Nigeria B+ due to transparency in doing business, and that the Fitch rating was being awaited.
In his presentation, the Deputy Governor, CBN, Mr. Sulaiman Barawu, explained that the Ways and Means Account was approved by law as contingency for the Federal Government to borrow from to fund its deficit up to five per cent of the preceding year’s revenue.
“What JP Morgan wanted us to do is to allow uncontrolled devaluation of the currency. We think that is harmful to the economy,” he said.
The director also said that the CBN believed the Naira was appropriately priced at N197 to one United States Dollar.

Wealth -Its Misconceptions

To Many people wealth is the number of cars, money, buildings, and other assets one possess. Personally to me, a wealthy man/woman is one who has impacted into the lives of so many others and who is humble with what his creator has enrished him/her with.

Likewise, a wealthy person is also seen as one who is healthy(without any sicknesss), because no matter how much you have, when a strange illness is inflicted on you, all that which you have may be no more just so you could be healthy again.
What's your take about wealth?

Reminder To The Muslim Ummah!!!

Suggested schedule for the Day of Arafah Insha Allah:

1. Sleep early the night before to strengthen yourself for the special day.

2. Wake up before Fajr for sahur.

3. Make wudoo, while consciously remembering that your sins are being washed away til the last drop of water.

Pray at least 4 rakahs of qiyam and make duaa for your deen & dunya in your sujood. Cry to Allah, showing Him humility & ask Him to give you tawfeeq on this great day, and thank Him for making you of those who would experience this special occasion.

4. Spend some time (10-15 mins at least) making Istighfar before Fajr, to be like the righteous whom Allah described as “seeking forgiveness before dawn.”

5. Repeat after Fajr adhan & make duaa. Pray Fajr. Sit in your prayer place and do your morning adhkar. Make tasbeeh, tahleel, tahmeed, & takbeer. And as the Prophet Muhammad (Sallal laahu alaihi wa sallam) advised, increase in “la ilaha illallah, wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd, wa huwa ala kulli shay’in qadeer.”

6. 15 minutes after sunrise pray 2 rakahs of shurooq. This all amounts to the reward of a complete Hajj & umrah. So do not waste it!

7. If you’re able to stay awake by all means, do so and do not waste a single minute. If you need to sleep, take a nap for an hour with the conscious intention of energizing yourself for the worship of Allah.

8. When you wake up, make wudoo and pray at least 4 rakahs of duha. Then recite lots of Quran and make the dhikr mentioned above in breaks in between.
(Make dhikr after Dhuhr as you prepare food or as you do what is absolutely necessary.)

9. After Asr, say the evening adhkar. Then recite Quram again til about an hour before Maghrib. At that point, make LOTS of duaa til Maghrib, while having yaqeen that Allah will answer. (Preparing a duaa list ahead of time helps!) Beg that the day will not come to an end except that Allah has forgiven you all your sins and written you of those He has freed from the Fire.

DG NYSC -No More Concessional Posting For Corp Members

DG NYSC -No more concessional posting for corps members

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi said that there would no longer be concessional posting for all corps members. Brig. Olawunmi said this while speaking with journalists during the opening ceremony of the training organised by the NYSC and the Housing Developers Cooperative Society for Corps Members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja yesterday September 21st.
“The NYSC is barring concessional posting; we have to take that decision, because in the past, we allowed concessional posting for prospective corps members, who had medical challenge, or married women or pregnant women, but as it stands now, our online registration platform has been designed in such a way to address the problem of those prospective corps members who have health challenges or married women.”
“So, all they need to do is that, in the process of doing their registration, there are information these categories of people need to supply and upload the documents, our portal has been designed in such a way that it will automatically post them to where they filled. I want to say that in the past few weeks we have been receiving requests from various quarters; ministries, departments, agencies, private institutions and individuals seeking for concessional posting. I want to say that they are just wasting their time,” he said.

20 Nigerian Pilgrims die in Saudi Arabia

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) yesterday confirmed the death of 20 Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The commission Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Mukhtar, who spoke at a pre-Arafat stakeholders’ meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said 14 pilgrims died following cardiac arrest and other ailments, and six lost their lives in the September 11 crane crash.

He said three Nigerians were injured in the crash, as against six earlier reported by the media.
The chairman said the pilgrims, who submitted valid documents to the commission for visa, were transported to Saudi Arabia.

Mukhtar urged the pilgrims to drink more water because of the harsh weather, saying they should only expose themselves to the sun when necessary.

On Arafat, the chairman said the pilgrims would start moving to Mina on Monday at midnight and advised them against climbing the roof of buses conveying them.
He said:
“We have resolved at a meeting with clerics to abide by the time given to us by the Saudi authority to start moving to Mina.”
Mukhtar warned clerics against inciting pilgrims against the resolution, saying anyone found doing so would be sanctioned.
His words: “Anyone who violates the decision of theUlama will be sanctioned. The commission has the power to sanction anyone found wanting.”

Presidency-Buhari Can't Stop Saraki's Trial

Presidency Says Buhari Can’t Stop Saraki’s Trial

Presidency has dissociated itself from the current travails of Senate President, Bukola Saraki in the hands of Code of Conduct Bureau,CCB and the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, saying the courts have a duty to perform.
Why saying that it will not tolerate claims that linking President Mohammdu Buhari to the matter, the president added that the speculation that CCB and CCT only act on external influence was unfounded.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said “that there is no place in law that the Bureau and the tribunal should take instructions from any quarters.”
According to him, “as an independent institution equal to any superior court of record, the tribunal is set up by the constitution to determine the issue of default, false declaration or forgery in assets declaration.
He Shehu said that the matter was purely a judicial process and had nothing to do with the presidency.

He advised the affected parties to also use the courts to acquit themselves of the allegations.
According to Shehu, the president can not interfere with the judicial process by stopping the Judge.

He reiterated President Buhari’s avowed commitment in the fight against corruption no matter whose ox is gored, saying that the President has sworn to protect the constitution.
“If anyone has an axe to grind with what they are doing, they should do it in a judicial manner by challenging those actions in a proper court of law. Let them hire a good team of lawyers to prove their innocence.

“Government has no desire to persecute anybody. The President has vowed to respect the rule of law and this is what he is doing by staying out of this matter. He has said times without number that the war against corruption has no sacred cows.

“Even if the President wants to help, there is no way he can do anything. Is he going to ask the judge to stop the trial?
“It is purely a judicial process, the type of which are routinely dealt with by the CCB and the CCT. There are many cases like this that are going on.

“The President has sworn to an oath to protect the constitution and will not violate that oath”, Shehu said in the statement.

34 Years Old Man Stabs His 74 Years Old Father and Removes His Heart

34 year old man stabs his 74 year old father and removes his heart

Residents of Abesan Estate in the Ipaja, Lagos were thrown into confusion after a 34 year old man, Nelson Oamen, stabbed his father, 74year old father, Ehiremen Oamen, to death, removed his heart and left with it after an altercation on Friday.
It was gathered that the father who was  a retiree was battling with stroke, and usually remained indoors.
His 34 year old son was said to be a drug addict and a no good lay about who lived off people.
According to eyewitnesses, at about 2pm on Friday, Nelson visited his father at his apartment and an argument ensued between the two. Nelson, who was suspected to be high on drugs, allegedly stabbed his father to death in his bedroom, and covered his body with a blanket.

Nelson’s younger sister, who did not want her name in print, discovered their father's body and raised the alarm after she discovered that there was a deep hole on the left side of his chest after he had been stabbed in several places.

The incident was then reported at the Ipaja Police Division.
Nelson's other sister who wanted to remain anonymous said:
“For about five years now, dad had been nursing a stroke, and he could not work again. So, he used to stay at home. Nelson did not have a stable location. He just came to the area on Friday.
“I was told that he came in through the window before committing the act. It was his younger sister, who has a shop in the area, and came in a few minutes later to change her clothes, who first observed bloodstains in the sitting room.
“She then traced the bloodstains to daddy’s room, and found out that he had been killed. We have not seen any sign of Nelson since then.”
A landlord in the area, Akeem Salau, who described the deceased as an easy-going man, said:
“The man has eight children. Nelson is the fourth child. The young man does not have any stable job. He also smokes and drinks heavily. He does not live here, but only comes once in a while.
“On that Friday, some people saw him in the afternoon. The people who saw him said he was unstable. He went into their house, and it was a few minutes later that they found the father dead. He fled immediately. When I went in to see the corpse, I observed that the old man was stabbed in several places. No one could have been so wicked except one was on drugs.”
Nelson is still at large and the Police are looking for him.
